Race Report - 14 May 2006

Daniel returns to consistent racing, finishing 2nd in Division 2 and 6th outright

All individual practice and race results are available on the NATSOFT site

With the Kart and engine completely checked over after the last meeting, Ramerman Racing travelled to Mallala with a high level of confidence. With the frustrations of the last meeting behind him Daniel set out to take on Division 2 looking for maximum points. The day consisted of 1 practice session and 5 x 6 lap heats. The Practice session showed that the gremlins from the previous meeting were fixed but that he was going to have to battle with Gerrit Ruff for the day's honours.

Heat 1 saw Daniel again being in the wrong spot at the wrong time as one of the leaders spun in Turn 2 allowing the back half of the field to zip by the scattering and spinning top half. Unfortunately amongst all the spinners Daniel was hit causing damage to the nose cone and wheel geometry. Everyone got going and Daniel set out from dead last, cursing his bad luck having started from a good grid position, eventually finishing 11th in the 18 kart field.

The remaining races saw very close action between Gerrit and Daniel with each swapping fastest time and position several times each heat. Gerrit won the day with Daniel 2nd with renewed determination to take the number 1 in Division 2 at the next meeting.
